NFL Rumors: Cowboys Plan For RB DeMarco Murray

Jacques-Jean Taylor of the Dallas Morning News suggests that rookie RB DeMarco Murray could end up being the Dallas Cowboys starting RB for the 2011 season.

“DeMarco Murray will challenge Felix Jones for the starting running back position, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t expect to win the job. Jones has been a disappointment, and the Cowboys have provided a catalyst for him to play his best football,” Taylor writes.

Jones has dealt with injuries in both of his first-two season with the Cowboys and Marion Barber will almost undoubtedly be gone once free agency is underway which should give him a chance to prove that he can be the teams starting running back. However, head coach Jason Garrett has supported the idea of Felix Jones being the teams No. 1 RB so Murray will have to have a convincing offseason in order to have a shot at starting week 1.
