Pro Football Weekly draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki mentioned that some NFL teams are worried that Clemson DE Da’Quan Bowers may need to have microfracture knee surgery in order to repair the damage that has limited him in the last few months.
The bad news just keeps coming for this guy. Even if he doesn’t need surgery, this will only cloud teams perceptions of him as the NFL Draft nears. So far Bowers have fallen from possibly going No. 1 overall to potentially dropping into the 20’s (ESPN’s Todd McShay).
Another issue for Bowers is that many see him as a 4-3 defensive end. With some many teams running a 3-4 defense scheme, their more likely to consider fast edge rushers or five-technique defensive tackles which will limit the number of teams that have interest in him.
