If the first name called tomorrow happens to be Auburn QB Cam Newton there’s not going to many surprised by the Carolina Panthers decision and as of now all indications suggest that they will do just that.
ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio is reporting that Newton is the “odds-on favorite” to be taken No. 1 overall.
Adam Schefter also tweeted that Panthers owner Jerry Richardson is a huge fan of Cam Newton.
Usually the team picking first overall will get a deal in place the night before but considering that we’re still without a collective bargaining agreement, it remains impossible for the Panthers to ink a deal tonight. Unless the Panthers announce who their taking tonight, we’re going to have to tune in tomorrow to find out.
