The Palm Beach Post writes that Ronnie Brown isn’t likely to be re-signed during the offseason. Brown will be 30 by then which is typically when running backs start to see a decline in production. The bad news for teams that may be interested in Brown is that his decline may have started this season.
Brown posted aย meager 3.7 yards per carry despite getting over 200 carries this season. Another concern is that he didn’t have a single game in which he rushed for over 100 yards. Brown finished the 2010 season with 734 yards rushing to along with 242 yards receiving. At least the 33 catches should help him find work because he is a decent receiver out of the backfield.
The New England Patriots have been proposed as a possible option for Brown. ย Other teams that could have interest may include the New Orleans Saints, the Green Bay Packers and possibly the Cincinnati Bengals. Depending on what happens with the New York Giants backfield, they may also consider him.
