Notable Injuries: Week 5

  • Arizona Cardinals
    • Steve Breaston is questionable for Sunday’s game because of a knee injury that he has being dealing with.
  • Carolina Panthers
    • Carolina will be without Steve Smith because of an ankle injury.
  • Chicago Bears
    • The Chicago Bears have already announced that Jay Cutler will sit out this weekends game against Carolina.
  • Cleveland Browns
    • Jake Delhomme is looking like he will end up being a game-time decision for the Cleveland Browns. Running back Peyton Hillis is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game but the consensus is that he will likely play.
  • Denver Broncos
    • ESPN’s John Clayton is reporting that the Denver Broncos will not have Knowshon Moreno against the Baltimore Ravens.
  • Detroit Lions
    • The Lions have Tony Scheffler and Nate Burleson both listed as questionable as of Friday.
  • Green Bay Packers
    • The Green Bay Packers are dealing with their fair share of injuries this week and expect to be without LB’s Nick Barnett and Brandon Chillar for Sunday’s game. Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel suggested that Packers may start rookie tackle Bryan Bulaga in place of Mark Tauscher. One bit of good news is that Nick Collins is listed as probable for this weekends game.
  • Houston Texans
    • Speaking of the Texans, the teams has listed Jacoby Jones as doubtful and Andre Johnson remains questionable. Not good for Matt Schaub and the Texans passing attack. Defensive end Mario Williams is also listed as questionable.
  • Indianapolis Colts
    • Joseph Addai practiced all week but is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game because of a knee injury that has been bothering him for the last few weeks.
  • Minnesota Vikings
    • The Minnesota Vikings have received some more bad news regarding rookie CB Chris Cook. Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Cook torn the meniscus in his left knee during a practice this week. One other note from Zulgad, Brett Favre is reported to be dealing with tendinitis in his right elbow.
  • New York Giants
    • The New York Giants plan to have Ahmad Bradshaw active this weekend but reports suggest that his ankle remains a problem. The Giants could wined up using Brandon Jacobs more than usual against Houston.
  • New York Jets
    • Darrelle Revis was limited in practice on Friday but has said that he is ready to go for Monday nights showdown against Randy Moss and the Vikings.
  • New Orleans Saints
    • New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton told reports today that he expects Pierre Thomas to sit out Sunday’s game. Saints will also be without CB Terry Porter.
  • Philadelphia Eagles
    • At least the Philadelphia Eagles got some good news today. LeSean McCoy looks like he will suit up on Sunday while Michael Vick, Assante Samuel and Bradley Cooper will all be out for Eagles.
  • Oakland Raiders
    • Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the Oakland Raiders have down graded Darren McFadden from doubtful to out for Sunday’s game. Michael Bush will be the teams featured back in place of McFadden. Quarterback Bruce Gratkowski remains questionable because of shoulder injury that he bothered him all week.
  • Tennessee Titans
    • Justin Gage will miss Sunday’s game because a hamstring string injury.
  • Washington Redskins
    • The Redskins currently have both Donovan McNabb and LaRon Landry listed as qusetionable for Sunday’s game against Green Bay.
