Packers Could Lose LB D.J. Smith & RB Brandon Saine For The Season

The Packers finally put together a complete game this season against the Houston Texans last night, but injuries are starting to pile up for them, and from Mike McCarthy’s comments following the game, it appears as though they could be without LB D.J. Smith and RB Brandon Saine for the rest of the season.

We feel … the injuries are significant,” said McCarthy regarding Smith and Saine’s injuries, via Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee. “We’ll have to recover from that and move on.”

Smith was already replacing Desmond Bishop who was lost for the season, so the Packers are getting very thin at inside linebacker. Smith may have Achilles injury, so it’s likely that we will not be talking about him again until next season. First-round pick Nick Perry was also hurt, but he was able to walk off the field under his own power last night.
