Update:
Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that LB A.J. Hawk has accepted a pay cut.
- Tom Silverstein adds that that Hawk reduced his 2013 salary by $1.85 million in return for $2.21 million of his new salary ($3.6 million) being guaranteed.Â
- The Packers free up $1.85 million in cap space.
- Hawk’s 2014 salary has been reduced to $3.5 million and his 2015 salary will now be $3.6 million.
Hawk had a $7.05 million salary cap figure for the 2013 season, which is clearly out of proportion for a player of his ability. It seems unlikely that he’ll be back following the 2013 season.
