The Green Bay Packers officially waived DB David Rivers with an injury designation Wednesday to make room forย CBย Daquan Holmes.
- Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinelย first reported that the Packers were signing Holmes to a contract.
Should Rivers clear waivers on Thursday, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list.
Holmes wound up going undrafted out of Americal International a few months ago. He actually worked out for the Packers during their rookie minicamp but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.
During his college career, Holmes recorded 108 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 34 pass defenses, a fumble recovery and 14 interceptions with two being returned for touchdowns over the course of three years and 29 games.
