Packers Work Out Six Players

According to Aaron Wilson, the Packers worked out six free agents on Monday. The full list includes:

  1. LB Joey Alfieri
  2. DT Javier Edwards
  3. LB D’Juan Hines
  4. LB Drew Lewis
  5. G Reggie McKenzie
  6. DT Walter Palmore

Hines, 25, signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in May of 2018. He was among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and signed to their practice squad once passing through waivers unclaimed.

From there, the Browns signed him off of the Chargers’ practice squad. Cleveland waived Hines last May and he signed with the Chiefs a month later before being waived again coming out of the preseason.

In 2018, Hines appeared in 13 games for the Browns and recorded two tackles.

During his four-year college career, Hines recorded 171 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, one interception, three pass defenses, and three forced fumbles.

Alfieri, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Stanford in 2019. He later agreed to a three, $1.755 million contract with the Eagles. However, Philadelphia elected to place Alfieri on waivers and he was claimed by the Giants.

New York waived Alfieri coming out of the preseason and he caught on with the 49ers practice squad late in the year. San Francisco re-signed Alfieri to a futures deal but waived him last month.

During his college career at Stanford, Alfieri recorded 156 tackles, 12 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, two recoveries and four pass defenses over the course of 47 games and four seasons.
