Panthers DE Charles Johnson Week-To-Week With MCL Sprain

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Panthers DE Charles Johnson has a MCL sprain and is listed as week-to-week moving forward.

Johnson suffered the injury after receiving a leg whip from Patriots’ OT Marcus Cannon. Johnson was clearly in pain following the injury and was carted off the field. He would later return to the game, which is pretty surprising given his injury.

Johnson, 27, currently leads the Panthers with eight and half sacks on the season. Johnson currently ranks as the No. 14 4-3 defensive end and No. 2 in quarterback hurries with 33, according to Pro Football Focus.

Though Johnson will likely miss Week 12, Carolina can take a sigh of relief that the injury wasn’t more severe.

With the Dolphins and Buccaneers on schedule for the next two weeks, Johnson should be able to rest up and be closer to 100 percent for their two matchups against the Saints later in the season.
