Panthers Keep RB DeAngelo Williams

NFL Networks Mike Lombardi reports that the Carolina Panthers have reached an agreement with RB DeAngelo Williams. Lombardi tweets that the deal is a five-year deal for $43 million which will include $21 million in guarantees.

Carolina has shown a willing to spend big on their free agents this year which was not something that they were willing to do in years past when they let Julius Peppers leave.

The market for Williams didn’t seem to be as hot as we were led to believe and the Panthers made it seem like he meant more to them than to any other team. Some of the others teams will be looking for better valued players at the running back position.
