ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that the Carolina Panthers have re-signed C Ryan Kalil to a six-year deal worth $49 million, including $28 million guaranteed.
This move will give the team some cap room considering that they franchised Kalil back in February which would have cost them $10.2 millon. Kalil now becomes the highest paid center in the NFL which is a distinction that I’m sure he’s proud of.
Carolina has managed to lockup everyone of their soon-to-be free agents as Kalil would have been a free agent in 2012. We had him listed as the No. 41 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
