Panthers Place G Chris Reed On COVID-19 List

The Carolina Panthers officially placed G Chris Reed on the COVID-19 list Tuesday, according to Albert Breer.

The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.

Reed, 28, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota State-Mankato back in 2015. He spent his rookie season on the Jaguars’ practice squad and was on and off their roster the next two years.

Reed managed to make the 53-man roster in 2018, but Jacksonville declined to tender him a restricted offer this past offseason. The Dolphins later signed him to a two-year, $3 million contract last year before waiving him in December.

Reed later caught on with the Panthers and had his option picked up this past March.

In 2019, Reed appeared in nine games for the Dolphins, starting one game, and appeared in three games for the Panthers.
