Panthers Place K Graham Gano On Injured Reserve

The Carolina Panthers announced Friday that they’ve placed K Graham Gano on injured reserve.

Reports from Thursday mentioned that this move could be coming, so not a big surprise.

Joye Slye has well during the preseason and will open the season as Carolina’s placekicker.

Gano, 32, originally signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in 2009. He spent three years in Washington before signing on with the Panthers for the 2012 season.

Gano played out the final year of his four-year, $12.4 million contract before agreeing to a four-year, $17 million contract with $9 million guaranteed with the Panthers last year.

In 2018, Gano converted 14 of 16 field goal attempts (87.5 percent) to go along with 30 of 33 extra point tries (90.9 percent).
