Panthers Promoting CB Carrington Byndom From Practice Squad

Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that the Panthers are promoting CB Carrington Byndom from their practice squad to take the place of veteran CB Antoine Cason, who has been cut loose.

Byndom, 22, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in May. He was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed to the team’s practice squad where he has remained for the first 13 weeks of the season.

During his four years at Texas, Byndom recorded 178 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, two sacks, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and scored two defensive touchdowns.
