Panthers Re-Sign CB LaDarius Gunter

The Carolina Panthers announced Monday that they’ve re-signed CB LaDarius Gunter to a one-year deal.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Gunter can make up to $1.4 million as part of this one-year deal.

Gunter visited with the 49ers, but previous reports did say that Carolina was in talks to bring back after Bashaud Breeland failed a physical, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

Gunter, 26, signed on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2015. He was waived last September and later claimed off of waivers by the Panthers.

Gunter is testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

Gunter played out the final year of a three-year, $1.58 million contract and made a base salary of $615,000 this season. However, Carolina declined to tender him a restricted offer in recent weeks and he’s now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Gunter was active for five games, but didn’t record a statistic.
