The Carolina Panthers have signed TE Bucky Hodges to their practice squad on Friday and released WR Keyarris Garrett from the unit, according to Joe Person.
The Panthers’ practice squad now consists of:
- QB Garrett Gilbert
- WR Mose Frazier
- OT Blaine Clausell
- DE Bryan Cox Jr.
- DE Zach Moore (Exception)
- DE Efe Obada (International)
- DT Eric Crume
- S Damian Parms
- S Dezmen Southward (Exception)
- FB Alex Armah
- TE Bucky Hodges
Hodges, 22, was taken in the sixth-round of this year’s NFL draft by the Vikings. He signed a four-year, $2.55-million contract with the Vikings and stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.
The Vikings waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and he was later waived from injured reserve with a settlement on Tuesday.
During his college career at Virgina Tech, Hodges caught 133 passes for 1,747 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns to go along with 89 rushing and 21 total touchdowns over the course of 39 games.
