The Carolina Panthers announced that they’ve officially signed veteran S Michael Griffinย to a contract and cut S Marcus Ball on Tuesday.
- The Panthers also placed DE Ryan Delaire on injured reserve.
Griffin, 31, was entering the final year of his five-year, $35 million contractย that includedย $15 million guaranteedย when the Titans released him in a move that createdย $6.5 millionย in available cap space several months ago.
The Vikings later signed him to a one-year contract back in March before placing him on injured reserveย coming out of the preseason. Minnesota later released him from I.R. with an injury settlement.
In 2015,ย Griffin appeared in 15 games for the Titans and recorded 101 tackles, one sack, an interception, and three pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 77 safetyย out of 88 qualifying players.
