Panthers Waive RB Marcus Murphy

According to Ian Rapoport, the Panthers placed RB Marcus Murphy on waivers Monday.

Murphy, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Saints back in 2015. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2,349,288 contract when New Orleans waived him in 2017.

Murphy had brief stints with the Jets and Colts before he caught on with the Bills. The Panthers signed him to a futures contract this past January.

In 2018, Murphy appeared in 11 games for the Bills and rushed for 250 yards on 52 carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 16 receptions for 26 yards receiving and no touchdowns. He also totaled 324 kick return yards and 15 punt return yards.
