The Carolina Panthers announced Friday that they’ve waived veteran WR Donte Moncrief and promoted WR Greg Dortch to their active roster.
Moncrief was active for three games during his time with the Panthers but did not catch a single pass.
Moncrief, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.745 million contract before agreeing to a one-year, $9.6 million fully-guaranteed with the Jaguars last year.
Moncrief signed a two-year deal with the Steelers back in March, but was waived a few months ago to protect the team’s projected compensatory pick for losing Le’Veon Bell in free agency. The Panthers later claimed him off of waivers.
In 2019, Moncrief has appeared in eight games for the Steelers and Panthers and caught four receptions for 18 yards (4.5 YPC) and no touchdowns.
