Patriots Placing FB Jakob Johnson On Injured Reserve

Jim McBride of the Boston Globe reports that the Patriots are expected to place FB Jakob Johnson on injured reserve after he suffered a shoulder injury in the win over the Giants on Thursday.

Johnson, 24, joined the Patriots as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program this past April. He agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Patriots.

Johnson played for the Stuttgart Scorpions of the German Football League. The Patriots waived him coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

New England promoted Johnson to their active roster a few weeks ago.

In 2019, Johnson has appeared in four games for the Patriots and caught one pass for five years.
