Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Cleared To Play In Week 7

Rob Gronkowski‘s agent, Drew Rosenhous, announced that Gronkowski has been given medical clearance by all doctors to play in Week 7 against the Jets, per Pro Football Talk.

Some reports from earlier this week indicated that Gronkowski could be held out another, but apparently that’s not case.

New England elected to not place Gronkowski on the PUP list in the hope that he could be available for Week 4, but wound up missing the first six weeks anyways.

The Patriots are in a relatively good spot considering that they are 5-1, despite suffering some key injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Tom Brady and the Patriots offense have had some serious struggles early on this season, so it can’t hurt to get a guy like Gronkowski back for the rest of the season. Rookie receivers Kenbrell Thompkins and WR Aaron Dobson will still be needed, but should see more favorable coverage as opposing defenses will likely key in on stopping Gronkowski.
