The New England Patriots waived LB Eric Martin on Friday, according to the NFL transactions release.
Martin, 24, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in New Orleans before later joining the Browns.
The Patriots signed him to a future/reserve contract in February, but he wound up being waived just a week into the season. The Patriots later signed him to their practice squad before promoting him a few weeks ago.
This season, Martin has appeared in three games and recorded two tackles for the Patriots.
