Patriots WR Wes Welker Intends To Re-sign With New England

New England Patriots WR Wes Welker told reporters that he intends to re-sign with Patriots during the offseason but mentioned that his biggest concern is their upcoming match up against the Giants.

I plan on being back so I’m not really too worried about that right now,” he said, via the Boston Herald. “You know, I’m fully concentrated on (the Super Bowl).”

Welker, 31, will be seeking a long-term contract which seems like the most likely scenario as he’s probably more value to the Patriots than to another team. There’s always the chance that they’re forced to use their franchise tag after talks have stalled but it would be hard to image in him playing for another team next season.

We have Welker listed as the #14 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
