Raiders Activate OT Donald Penn From PUP List

The Oakland Raiders have activated OT Donald Penn from active/PUP list on Tuesday after he passed a physical, according to Michael Gehlken.

Last night, the Raiders and PennĀ agreed to a restructured contract on Monday.

According to Gehlken, the Raiders get moreĀ team-friendly parameters in terms of Penn’s dealĀ while he receives more guaranteed money over next two years than he otherwise was set to earn.

Penn reportedly took a “small pay cut” to ensure he remains with the team.

Penn, 35, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State back in 2006. After a few months in Minnesota, Penn signed on with the Buccaneers during his rookie season and spent eight years in Tampa Bay before he was released back in 2014.

The Raiders signed PennĀ to a contract soon after before signing him to a $21M extension last year.

In 2017, Penn appeared in 14 games for the Raiders and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 23 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
