Raiders HC Dennis Allen Would Like To Have Charles Woodson Back Next Season

Raiders HC Dennis Allen said that he would like to have veteran CB Charles Woodson back next season.

“I think he’s a guy we’d like to hopefully bring back,” Allen said, via ESPN Wisconsin“There’s a business side to anything that you do, but I thought from a leadership perspective and really from a playing perspective, I thought he brought a lot to the table.”

Woodson, 37, has said that intends to play next season, but he doubts he’ll be back in Green Bay.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Woodson said via text message Monday. “I definitely plan on playing. But I think the Packers already have plenty of safeties. LOL.

Woodson, 37, has produced 75 tackles, two sacks, one interception, three forced fumble and a defensive touchdown for the Raiders. He was rated as the No. 28 safety in the league last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

It seems likely that he will be asked to sign a veteran’s minimum contract this offseason.
