Raiders Interview Kris Richard For Defensive Coordinator Job

The Las Vegas Raiders have interviewed Kris Richard for their defensive coordinator vacancy, according to Jason La Canfora

The Raiders have reportedly requested permission to interview Chargers DC Gus Bradley for the job and Falcons interim coach Raheem Morris and Rams assistant Joe Barry are two other candidates to keep an eye on for Las Vegas.

The Raiders’ defense was very disappointing in 2020 and resulted in Paul Guenther being fired midseason and replaced by Rod Marinelli. However, there was still very little improvement in the final month of the season.

Richard, 41, began his coaching career with the Seahawks back in 2008 as a graduate assistant. He worked his way up to defensive in 2015 and spent the three seasons in charge of the Seahawks’ defense before parting ways in 2017.

The Cowboys later hired Richard as their defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator. Richard’s contract with the Cowboys expired last year.

We’ll have more regarding the Raiders as the news is available.
