Todd Grantham To Remain At Louisville Instead Of Taking Raiders DC Job

Update:

Brett McMurphy reports Todd Grantham will remain at the University of Louisville, despite interest from the Oakland Raiders regarding their defensive coordinator position.

“My family loves it in Louisville, and I think we are establishing something special here with Bobby Petrino and our staff,” Grantham said, per Bruce Feldman.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Louisville DC Todd Grantham has received a two-year deal from the Raiders to be their next defensive coordinator.

  • Rapoport doesn’t say whether or not Grantham has agreed to take the position.

This fits with a previous report from Dianna Marie Russini, who mentioned that that the Raiders were interested in Grantham for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Russini added that Grantham was considered to be the “favorite” for the Raiders’ job, and the two parties were set to meet at some point in the near future.

There had been reports that Oakland was looking to the college ranks for their next coordinator, even though NFL coaches like Mike Smith and Mel Tucker were initially mentioned as potential options for the Raiders.

We’ll have more updates regarding the Raiders and Grantham as the news is available.
