The Oakland Raiders announced Thursday that they’ve officially hired 13 assistant coaches, who will join Jon Gruden’s staff for the 2018 season.
The full list includes:
- Derrick Ansley – Defensive Backs
- Edgar Bennett – Wide Receivers
- Tim Berbenich – Quality Control – Offense
- Tom Cable – Offensive Line
- Nick Holz – Quality Control – Offense
- David Lippincott – Linebackers
- Jim O’Neil – Senior Defensive Assistant
- Dave Razzano – Director of Football Research
- Jemal Singleton – Running Backs
- Frank Smith – Tight Ends
- Travis Smith – Quality Control – Defense
- Byron Storer – Assistant Special Teams
- Mike Trgovac – Defensive Line
Cable, 53, began his NFL coaching career with the Falcons back in 2006 as an offensive line coach. He departed after one season in Atlanta to become the Raiders offensive line coach before he was promoted to head coach in 2008.
Cable was fired after three seasons before agreeing to join the Seahawks as their assistant head coach/offensive line coach.
During his three years as the Raiders’ head coach, Cable led them to a record of 17-27 (38.6) and no playoff appearances.
