Raiders & OT Donald Penn Discussing A Contract Extension

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle, citing a league source, reports that the Raiders and OT Donald Penn‘s agent have discussed possible contract extension.

I don’t want to get into that, just focusing on things on the field,” said Penn. “But yeah, that would be great. I love it here. I grew up a Raiders fan and we’re getting closer to bringing it back to the old, winning ways.”

Penn, 32, signed a two-year, $9.6 million contract that included $4.2 million guaranteed with the Raiders last year and stands to make a base salary of $4.6 million for the 2015 season.

Oakland was in a tough position last year after their agreement with Rodger Saffold fell through. However, the lucked out when the Buccaneers cut Penn loose.

Last year, Penn appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 7 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.
