Raiders Place OT Donald Penn, DT Eddie Vanderdoes & DT P.J. Hall On PUP List

Field Yates reports that the Raiders placed OT Donald Penn, DT Eddie Vanderdoes and rookie DT P.J. Hall on the active/PUP list.

This is really just a procedural move for the Raiders, as they could still return before the start of the regular season. However, if they remain on the list for Week 1, they would miss the first six games of the season.

Penn, 35, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State back in 2006. After a few months in Minnesota, Penn signed on with the Buccaneers during his rookie season and spent eight years in Tampa Bay before he was released back in 2014.

The Raiders signed Penn to a contract soon after before signing him to a $21M extension last year.

In 2017, Penn appeared in 14 games for the Raiders and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 23 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.

Hall, 23, was selected with the No. 57 overall pick in the second round of this year’s draft by the Raiders. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a four-year, $4,713,470 contract that includes a $1,507,976 signing bonus.

During his college career at Sam Houston State, Hall appeared in 56 games and recorded 284 tackles (160 solo), 42 sacks, nine forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and 14 blocked kicks.

Hall was a four-time All-American and a first-team All-Southland Conference in each of his four seasons.
