Raiders RT Trent Brown Hospitalized After Pregame IV Mishap

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Raiders RT Trent Brown was hospitalized on Sunday after a mishap with his pre-game IV that caused air to enter his bloodstream.

Brown required immediate medical attention and was taken to a hospital where he will remain overnight for further tests.

Raiders QB Derek Carr said after the game that they were “scared for Trent (Brown)” when got sick before the game.

“They wheeled him out and we didn’t know what [was] happening,” Carr said, per Vic Tafur

“We’re just going to say he got ill here in the locker room. I’m told that everything is OK,” Raiders HC Jon Gruden said of the incident involving Brown.

Brown, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2015. He was traded to the Patriots in 2018 in a pick swap.

Brown played out the final year of his four-year, $2.28 million contract before agreeing to a record four-year, $66 million deal that includes $36.75 million guaranteed with the Raiders last offseason.

In 2020, Brown has appeared in two games for the Raiders and made two starts at right tackle.
