Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Raiders recently worked out veteran SÂ Bernard Pollard after they placed SÂ Nate Allen on injured reserve with the designation to return.
The Raiders could obviously use some help at safety given that they’re without Allen and S Charles Woodson is dealing with a shoulder injury.
Pollard, 30, signed a two-year, $6.3 million contract with the Titans back in March of last year, but he wound up being released by Tennessee in a move that freed up $3.2 million in cap space for the team.
Since then, there hasn’t been any reported interest in him, which is a bit surprising given that he has been a productive player in recent years. However, he is coming off of a serious injury, which likely impacted the amount of interest in him.
Pollard’s 2014 season came to an end in Week 5 after he sustained a ruptured Achilles injury. Last year, he appeared in five games and recording 27 tackles, one sack and a pass defense.
