Rams Prepared To Allow WR Danny Amendola To Test The Open Market?

Ian Rapoport tweets that “it looks like” the St Louis Rams will allow WR Danny Amendola to test the free agent market in the coming weeks.

The Rams have their value on him. We’ll see if he beats it in [free agency],” added Rapoport.

Amendola, 27, has been very productive when healthy for the Rams, and you could make the argument that, even with him on their roster, they’re still in need of more help at wide receiver.

It appeared as though Amendola could be a candidate for the franchise tag, but their current financial situation wouldn’t allow them to do much else. If players like Dwayne Bowe, Greg Jennings and Wes Welker end up returning to their respective teams, it could really help Amendola command a much better contract.

Rapoport mentions that the 49ers and Patriots could be potential options for him.

We have Amendola listed as the No. 27 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
