According to Art Stapleton, the Rams are signing free agent CB Donte Deayon to their practice squad.
The Rams’ practice squad now consists of:
- TE Henry Krieger-Coble
- DB Steven Parker
- DB Ramon Richards
- OT Darrell Williams
- QB Brandon Allen
- C Aaron Neary
- LB Travin Howard
- WR Austin Proehl
- G J.J. Dielman
- CB Donte Deayon
Deayon, 24, wound up signing on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State back in 2016. He was waived coming out of the preseason during his rookie year and later signed to the team’s practice squad.
New York brought Deayon back on a futures contract the following year, but he was once again added to their taxi squad after being cut at the start of the season. The Giants eventually promoted him to their active roster during the 2017 season and he managed to make the 53-man roster this year.
The Giants elected to waive him back in October. This is the first reported interest in him since becoming a free agent.
In 2018, Deayon has appeared in four games for the Giants and recorded six tackles, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses.
