Rams Still Considering More Options At WR

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes that the Rams are “exploring all options when it comes to finding wide receiver help.” Thomas mentions that both Jerome Simpson and Jerricho Cotchery will meet with the team at some point today.

Of the two players, Cotchery has proven to be the more effective player, but the fact that he”ll be 30 at the start of season could have an impact on the team’s decision. In contrast, Simpson will only be 26 at the start of the 2012 season, but he was rated as the #112 receiver out of #115 last by Pro Football Focus so he’ll have to convince the Rams that he has the ability to be effective.

St Louis is most likely just trying to fill out their roster here. They probably grab someone in the early rounds of this year’s draft and Justin Blackmon appears to be the consensus favorite to be taken at #6 overall.
