Rams Worked Out QBs Sean Renfree & Thad Lewis

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Rams worked out free agents quarterbacks Sean Renfree and Thad Lewis on Thursday.

Renfree, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in 2013. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.206 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2016 season when the Falcons cut him loose in August of last year.

Renfree wound up sitting out the entire 2016 season before he signed a future/reserve contract with the Buccaneers this past January. However, the Bucs waived Renfree a few weeks after this year’s NFL draft.

In 2015, Renfree appeared in two games for the Falcons and completed three of seven pass attempts for 11 yards and an interception.

Lewis, 29, is a well-traveled veteran who has played for a number of teams including the Rams, Browns, Lions, Bills, Texans, and Eagles. He signed a one-year contract worth $760,000 with the 49ers as a free agent back in March of last year but was placed on injured reserve with a torn knee and missed the entire 2016 season.

Lewis last appeared in an NFL game while playing for the Bills in 2013. That year, he threw for 1,092 yards while completing 59.2 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
