Ravens Make Trade For DL Calais Campbell Official, Announce One-Year Extension

The Ravens announced on Thursday they have officially traded a fifth-round pick, acquired from the Falcons in another deal, to the Jaguars for DL Calais Campbell

Baltimore also announced they’ve agreed in principle to a one-year extension for Campbell pending the passing of a physical.

“Calais is a player we have long admired, even going to back … to when he came out of college,” Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said via Jeff Zrebiec. “He’s a natural fit for our defense and a versatile player who plays like a Raven.”

Ian Rapoport previously reported Campbell was getting a two-year deal worth $27 million total with $20 million guaranteed as a part of the deal.

Campbell, 33, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2008. He spent nine years in Arizona before signing a four-year, $60 million contract that included $30 million guaranteed with the Jaguars for the 2017 season.

Campbell was set to make a base salary of $15 million for the 2020 season.

In 2019, Campbell appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and recorded 56 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a recovery, a defensive touchdown and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 2 edge defender out of 107 qualifying players.
