Ravens Re-Sign OLB Jihad Ward

The Baltimore Ravens are re-signing DE/OLB Jihad Ward, according to Jeff Zrebiec

Prior reports had said that Ward was expected to finalize an extension with the Ravens and it appears as though the two parties were able to get the deal done.

Ward, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2016. He was in the third year of his four-year, $5.539 million contract when the Raiders traded him to the Cowboys for WR Ryan Switzer.

Dallas wound up waiving Ward coming out of the 2018 preseason and signed on to the Colts’ practice squad. Indianapolis promoted him to their active roster before cutting him in October of last year.

He caught on with the Ravens soon after and earned a role in Baltimore last season.

In 2019, Ward appeared in 11 games for the Ravens and three for the Colts, recording seven total tackles, one sack, two fumble recoveries, and one pass defense.
