Ravens Release S Michael Huff & DE Marcus Spears

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they have released veteran S Michael Huff and DE Marcus Spears.

Both Huff and Spears were signed to contracts this offseason in the hope that they would help to solidify their rebuilt defense.

Huff, 30, signed a three-year contract worth $6 million, which also included a $1.5 million signing bonus. Huff has only contributed just four tackles this season and was even benched for a game. In fact, Huff hasn’t played a single snap since Week 4.

Spears, 30, signed a two-year deal worth $2.75 million, which included a $600,000 signing bonus. Spears was losing playing time to third-round pick DT Brandon Williams and he was forced to miss a few games with a knee injury. Spears totaled 10 tackles on the year.

We’ll have to see any another team is willing to bring in either of these players right away. The Cowboys could use defensive line help and Spears spent some time with them in the past.
