Ravens Promote RB Fitzgerald Toussaint, Place OL Jah Reid On I.R.

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens signed promoted RB Fitzgerald Toussaint to their active roster ahead of Sunday’s game.

The Ravens placed OL Jah Reid on season-ending injured reserve on Saturday after he re-injured his surgically repaired hand, per Wilson.

There was talk that the Ravens could add some additional help at running back for their Week 15 matchup against the Jaguars as RB Lorenzo Taliaferro is expected to miss Sunday’s game due to a sprained foot.

Toussaint mentioned on Friday that he was prepared for the opportunity should he get called up.

Definitely, I’m always prepared,” Toussaint said. “I try to do everything every week as I’m playing. As a practice-squad guy, you don’t want to get caught off-guard.”

Toussaint, 24, signed on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan back in May. Since then, he has been on and off the team’s practice squad numerous times.

Reed, 26, appeared in four games for Baltimore this season. He’s in the final year of his four-year, $2,603,240 rookie contract and is set to be an unrestricted free agent next year.
