Jeff Zrebiec hears that the Ravens’ news conference on Friday is to announce a contract extension for CB Tavon Young.
Zrebiec mentions that while Young is signed through the 2019 season, one of new Ravens GM Eric DeCostaโs priorities this offseason is to lock up some of the team’s young players before they get to walk years.
Young, 24, is a former fourth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2016. He’s entering the final of his four-year, $2.945 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.
In 2018, Young appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and recorded 37 tackles, two sacks, an interception, two fumble recoveries returned for touchdowns and five pass defenses.
