Ron Borges of the Boston Herald suggests that re-signing cornerback Aqib Talib is a must for the Patriots this offseason given his impact on their underwhelming secondary.
“That’s the business side of the business,” Talib said, via ESPN Boston. “Definitely enjoyed my time (in New England), we’ll see what happens in the future, but I definitely had the most fun I’ve had playing football in a long time here.”
The Patriots’ secondary had a hard time slowing down Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense in the second half of yesterday’s AFC Championship game, which most likely had something to do with Talib’s absence.
New England parted with a fourth-round pick in return for Talib, which has proven to be a great move by Bill Belichick.ย Talib is regarded as one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL today and possesses great size for his position, so it would make sense to see them approach him regarding a multi-year extension at some point in the near future.
We have Talib listed as the No. 23 best available player in ourย Top 50 Free Agents list.
