Redskins Interviewing Scott Turner For Offensive Coordinator Job

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that new Redskins HC Ron Rivera is interviewing Panthers OC Scott Turner for Washington’s offensive coordinator vacancy on Friday.

Even so, Rapoport says that incumbent OC Kevin O’Connell is the favorite for the Redskins’ job.

Another possibility, according to Rapoport, is that the Redskins could hire Turner as their QBs coach in the event they keep O’Connell in place to run the offense.

Turner, 37, is the son of veteran coach Norv Turner. He began his NFL career as a graduate assistant at Oregon State back in 2005. He took his first NFL coaching job with the Panthers in 2011 as their offensive quality control coordinator.

From there, Turner had stints with the Browns and Vikings before he was eventually hired as the Panthers’ QBs coach in 2018. Carolina promoted him to offensive coordinator/QBs coach last year.
