Redskins Place S Troy Apke On IR, Promote LB Cassanova McKinzy

The Washington Redskins placed S Troy Apke on injured reserve Monday with a hamstring injury and promoted LB Cassanova McKinzy to their active roster.

• The Redskins also signed DB Jason Thompson to their practice squad.

Apke, 23, was selected in the fourth round of this year’s draft by the Redskins. He agreed to a four-year, $3,163,636 that includes a $703,636 signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $480,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2018, Apke appeared in two games for the Redskins and recorded one tackle.
