Redskins Place TEs Niles Paul & Logan Paulsen On I.R., Sign TE Ernst Brun

The Washington Redskins announced that they’ve placed tight endsย Niles Paul and Logan Paulsen on season-ending injured reserve Sunday.

  • The Redskins also signed TE Ernst Brun to a contract andย waived/injured RB Silas Redd.

Both Paul and Paulsen suffered season-ending injuries in recent weeks, so the Redskins had to add another tight end.

HC Jayย Gruden said ofย Brun:ย “He had a good workout today … We’re going to give him a shot.”

Paul, 26, signed a three-year, $6 million contract with the Redskins back in March and stands to make a base salary of $1.25 million for the 2015 season.

Last year, Paul appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and caught 39 passes for 507 yards receiving and a touchdown.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 59ย tight endย out of 67ย qualifying players.

Paulsen, 28, is in the final year of hisย three-year, $4 million contractย that included aย $1.1 million signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary ofย $1.1 million in 2015 before becoming an unrestricted free agent next year.

In 2014, Paulsen appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and caught 13 passes for 78 yards receiving and a touchdown.
