Redskins Re-Sign DL Ziggy Hood

The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they’ve re-signed veteran DL Ziggy Hood.

Hood, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He played out his rookie contract with the Steelers before signing a four-year agreement with the Jaguars in March of 2015.

He lasted over a year and a half in Jacksonville before signing on with the Bears during the 2015 season. After the year was out, the Redskins signed to a future/reserve contract.

Hood was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Hood appeared in all 16 games for the Redskins and recorded 33 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 120 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
