According to Chris Russell of ESPN 980, Redskins S Ryan Clark “stronglyย indicated” that this season will be his last in the NFL.
- Russell also noted that Clark has a job at ESPN, which he would presumably continue after his playing career.
Clark is one piece of a struggling Redskins secondary. ย The unit has been plagued by injuries, but the problems can be attributed to more than poor health.
Clark, a 13-year veteran, returned to Washington for a second stint on a one-year deal after spending the previous eight seasons in Pittsburgh.
The 2014 season has gone especially poorly for Clark, who is ranked by Pro Football Focus as the No.85 player, out of 86 eligible safeties.
Clark has always been active in a variety of football and non-football related ventures, and it appears likely that NFL fans will continue to hear from him post-retirement.
