The Washington Redskins are signing RB Peyton Barber to a two-year contract on Tuesday, according to Jeremy Fowler.
Josina Anderson reports that Barber receives a two-year contract worth $3 million with $600,000 guaranteed.
Barber, 26, wound up signing on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2016. He was released coming out of the preseason during his rookie year but was later added to the Buccaneers’ practice and eventually promoted to their active roster.
Tampa Bay brought Barber back on a one-year contract in 2019 and he was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2019, Barber appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers and rushed for 470 yards on 154 carries (3.1 YPC) to go along with 16 receptions for 115 yards receiving and seven touchdowns.
We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
