Report: 49ers Willing To Offer CB Tarell Brown A Three-Year, $10M Deal

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, the 49ers are willing to offer free agent CB Tarell Brown a three-year, $10 million contract.

  • Maiocco adds that San Francisco is “comfortable” moving forward with Chris Culliver and Tramaine Brock as their starting cornerbacks.

The Dolphins reportedly have interest in Brown who has found a very quiet market since free agency got underway on Tuesday. This can be attributed to the simple fact that NFL teams have been unwilling to pay much for nickel corners.

Brown, 29, appeared in 13 games last season and totaled 32 tackles and a fumble recovery last season. Pro Football Focus rated Brown as the No. 32 cornerback in the league next season.

We have Brown featured in our Top 100 Free Agents list.

    • I understand where your head is at, but considering the scarcity of 3 WR sets in the 49ers offense, a talented corner would be more valuable at this point. Patton is talented and has the tools to become our #3. Signing Edelman will push him down the depth chart and take away from our defense.

    • agree with Lennon, Crabtree, Boldin, Patton & Rookie to be can get it done. gotta address corner position because who knows how Culliver will bounce back from injury and Brock has less than 1 season as a starter. Thurmond or DRC would be a solid acquisition for them.
